It has been an excellent time of more than one month to be a part of the AMAL Fellowship. Every week we are assigned unique and interesting tasks. This week we were introduced to a technique to overcome some difficulties that we face during work on some project or task. This technique is older but for me, it is the first time when I heard about this technique.
Pomodoro is a technique to do tasks within a defined limit of time. It is a technique to manage time and developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. It has 4 basic steps to manage time:
1. Choose a Task.
2. Set a timer for 25 minutes.
3. To eliminate the internet during this period.
4. Take a short break after each Pomodoro and restart the task.
5. Take a longer break after 4 Pomodoro.
These simple steps make your task easier within less time and more productivity.
Nowadays I’m very busy with academic activities as my MS is about to complete and I have to make its presentation and be ready for the viva, But I had to complete my Amal projects as well. Here the panic monster arrives, many thoughts coming into my mind that I cannot complete my tasks, I remember the old saying, ‘’Never loss hope”. Hence I taught why not to try the Pomodoro technique. So I set a Pomodoro Timer of 25 minutes and started my pending work of AMAL Online Course 2 about Superhero Resume. After completing Online Course 2, I took a short break for 5 minutes and Tried to play some games phone. After the break, I started to review my resume and share it with my fellows to give their feedback. The fear of Thesis and Academic work kept on knocking in my head but I stick to my plan to complete the AMAL tasks.
After one Pomodoro cycle, I successfully completed my task and feels relaxed. This technique is very useful to do daily routine tasks to manage your precious time, having relaxation and satisfaction. After experiencing this technique, I made a new year resolution to use this technique in my daily routine tasks as a special addition to my life.
